Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the Flavor Creation Team EMEAI (including Flavor Portfolio and other support functions)
  • Managing the team to follow the company strategy to ensure top-line sales growth, increase operating profit and protect market shares by tracking monthly the approaches and execution on goals
  • Representation of Flavor Creation in the senior management forum in EMEAI
  • Technical coordination of top tier accounts and global accounts
  • Training of Flavorists, enhancing talents and capabilities
  • Establishing /monitoring regional and global flavor portfolio, identifying and closing gaps, installing customer libraries
  • Support global raw material harmonization
  • Development from scratch robust reproducible, creative and innovative beverage and food flavors across a broad range of flavor types aligned with business needs (sensory, costs, regulation, innovation)
  • Development of successful matches
  • Support of Sales and Product Management activities with flavor expertise and participate in customer visits
  • Work closely together with application, regulatory, quality, purchase and production
  • Development of replacements of existing materials, ensuring the integrity of formulas with new materials
  • Ensure the cost effectiveness of existing flavors and developing a rationalized tool box adequate for the market -
  • Support product transfer process by adapting formulas to local requirements
  • Management of innovation projects and participation in global platforms of excellence.
  • Continuously optimization of the creative process, work flows and tools – Develop jointly with production GCP (good creative practices) to optimize Flavor Production and monitor implementation
  • Identifying new business opportunities using new technology and raw materials and align with Flavor Research team to develop innovations
     

Required Skills and Experiences

  • Master degree of Science in Chemistry, Food Science/Food Technology or comparable education
  • Senior/Chief Flavorist with a minimum of 20 years of experience with a major Flavor House
  • Strong Leadership skills, directing the team to support the business successfully
  • Strong background in all areas of application (sweet Food & beverage)
  • Proven development of successful innovative and complex flavors for beverage, food and dairy applications
  • Solid project management experience
  • Knowledge of Flavor raw materials and flavor manufacturing processes and their application properties (liquid, spray drying, encapsulation)
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial and economic aspects of the business
  • Familiar with EU regulation and critical substances for Germany
  • Clear understanding of sensory and analytical tools supporting efficient and effective way of working
  • Fluent language skills in English and German appreciated
