Position: The position of Director Fragrance Consumer Goods EMEA will be responsible for defining and executing the strategic plans with clear value propositions for regional and global accounts, carried by the whole organisation. Build and Lead cohesive Sales, Marketing and Creation & Innovation teams for Fragrances Consumer Goods in EMEA, to meet client needs and to achieve growing, profitable sales revenue in a sustainable way. Define and execute strategic plans for global key accounts in cooperation with other regions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Define and execute strategic plans:
- Analytics: Analysing markets and competition, defining and choosing markets, segments and customers to focus on.
- Defining value propositions resulting in competitive advantages for the company.
- Define and execute strategic plans for global key accounts in cooperation with other regions.
- Define capabilities and execute plans how to win.
- Design and build the appropriate management systems and organizational structure to support the long-range plans and achieve results.
- Lead Sales, Marketing and Creation & Innovation teams across EMEA, aligning and engaging teams to the strategy.
- Co-create with the company Categories and Business managers the optimum portfolio of products, technologies, capabilities and services, which are achieving profitable sales to the targeted customer segments. Drive the successful selling stories (quality/sustainability, service and price) to customers. Add value for customers wherever
that value will be properly compensated for.
- Set the pricing strategies and parameters to achieve both top line business growth objectives and margin
objectives.
- Lead and manage Core list exercises for Global accounts with headquarters in EMEA.
- Creative & Technical:
- Coordinates all activities (Consumer Insight, Marketing, R&D – including Applications, Creation, Fragrance Development Management –) to ensure that all internal procedures concerning the creative process are adhered to and executed by perfumers and fragrance development, aligned and in compliance with company corporate standards.
- Works with sales managers to ensure proper resource allocation against commercial strategy. Provides and effective bridge between commercial and technology teams.
- Tracks, measures and manages perfumery and lab metrics, establishing guidelines for efficiency and performance.
- Works with the Perfumery and Master Data Management team to ensure proper formula management that meets the expectations of the creative team.
- Liaises and coordinates with creative, technical and laboratory management regularly, to ensure continuous optimisation of processes between sites and to meet business needs.
- Drive the annual business planning process in mode of “Align-Plan-Execute-Review and Revise”. Reports on budget, forecast and overall plan execution during quarterly review with Corporate.
- Ensure and support all CSR initiatives and align them with customer needs.
- Actively and regularly assess performance and potential of people and teams, driving a high-performance and results driven culture. Identify gaps and lead corrective actions when necessary. Manage succession and development plans in the area.
- Operations & Forecasting: Manage forecasting and budgeting with sales teams to effectively guide Supply Chain and Operations.
Key Requirements:
- Education and Experience:
- Masters in Marketing, Business, Management, International Business (MBA is a plus but not required),
- Technical & scientific skills are a plus.
- 10-15 years of experience across different cross functional roles, for example: sales, product management, marketing.
- Proven experience in developing and capturing new business opportunities as well global account management, in Fragrances, Flavours and/or Ingredients businesses.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, drive to succeed and intellectual curiosity on ‘how/why things work’. Resilient, tenacious and demonstrates energy.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes complex activities across multiple functions (internal and external) with minimal supervision. Able to lead cross-functional teams and diverse groups that may also have conflicting agendas. Able to effectively balance short-term tactical and long-term strategic activities.
- Capable of independent decision-making. Uses discretion and judgement to assess situations correctly and, with minimal guidance, to develop and implement appropriate solutions.
- Advanced people Management and Negotiation skills.
- Proven international experience in a multi-cultural environment.
- Able to understand financial impact of opportunities to prioritize activities as appropriate.
- Fluency in English. French would be advantageous.
