About the business: Responsible for development and implementation of product strategies for global vitamin premix product line in EMEA. Responsible for the P&L performance of the EMEA Vitamin Premix product lines, ensuring appropriate focus and correct resource and asset utilization. Manage pricing and costing strategy for the Vitamin Premix business, setting guard rails and taking active involvement in major RFQ processes. In collaboration with key regional leaders, has full ownership of business positioning and focus. Work with global product and sales team to provide day-to-day product management support for product offering. Work with procurement to build and execute robust strategy around raw material needs, managing risk to ensure procurement positions are in balance with customer demand. Coordinate and act as lead to deliver mid- and long-term product strategies with internal customers (sales, finance, customer service, purchasing, marketing, operations, R&D). Define and manage clear business goals and driving actions to deliver on these throughout the organization. Define and monitor KPI’s, and report on P&L performance.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Build and implement product strategies for the global product line in EMEA; this includes aligning with operations and the plant strategy.
  • Manage initiatives for products in the plants, working with operations, supply, quality, sales and procurement.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, sales planning and inventory management to define and maintain product forecast and inventories to ensure product supply.
  • Build and rationalize technology platforms for assets, ensuring optimal product mix, SKU management and margin positioning.
  • Develop go-to-market strategy for the business in tandem with commercial, and marketing / insights.
  • Build value story as part of go-to-market strategy.
  • Provide clear internal understanding of business and go-to-market strategy.
  • Act as liaison for internal customers (sales, finance, customer service, purchasing, marketing, operations) for day to-day product related strategies.
  • Initiate and develop business cases to support strategic capex investments.
  • Coordinate and lead monthly and quarterly reviews with sales, operations and procurement.
  • Work with stakeholders on the supply/demand planning process to ensure to ensure optimal balance of high service levels, capacity / resource utilization, and minimal inventory write offs.
  • Analyze and understand competitive landscape, market trends and dynamics to provide recommendations which support growth, manage risk and drive change in the product segment business, as needed.
  • Accelerate the sales process through execution of product strategy. Strong product positioning and excellent product stewardship, optimizing / driving revenue and improving net margins, impacting the bottom line.
  • Lead multi-functional teams to drive projects to commercialization and sales.

Key Requirements

  • Education: MBA Preferred, BS/BA in related field required.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 10 years Product Management or equivalent experience in the food and nutrition industry.
    • Must be results-focused and oriented toward the accomplishment of team and organizational goals.
    • Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to persuade others.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with the utmost professionalism.
    • Ability to handle multiple, rapidly-changing and conflicting priorities.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.

    • Must be a strategic thinker that can translate ideas into successful outcomes.
  • Language, Computer & Numeracy
    • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint a plus. SAP experience helpful.
  • Personality, Characteristics:
    • Ability to stay positive and calm in difficult and/or trying circumstances.
    • Independent, proactive, extremely detail-oriented, dependable, organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Travel requirements:
    • Periodic domestic and international travel required 30 to 50%.
