Position Overview
The Plant Manager holds overall responsibility for plant operations, ensuring alignment with operational KPIs while overseeing both technical and disciplinary management of a team exceeding 100 employees.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee workplace and process safety, environmental protection, technical documentation, and employee training, in collaboration with the EHS department.
• Ensure strict compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as adherence to company policies and strategic objectives.
• Manage departmental budgets and projects, driving cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Optimize production capacities and processes to achieve company goals while minimizing production costs and overheads.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, actively encouraging innovation and the implementation of new ideas.
• Maintain close coordination with key organizational functions, including Sales, Product Management, Purchasing, and Finance, to ensure seamless operations.
• Provide strategic leadership with a clear progression path to Head of Operations, following the planned retirement of the current role holder.
Qualifications & Experience
• A degree in Chemical Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
• A minimum of five years of management and professional experience in a comparable role within a food production environment.
• Business fluency in both German and English.
• Proficiency in MS Office and SAP, along with in-depth knowledge of HACCP and GMP standards.
• A collaborative and empathetic leadership style, combined with strong communication skills and assertiveness.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and effective decision-making abilities.
• A keen interest in change management and the successful implementation of new initiatives.
