Key Responsibilities

  • Develop flavours formulas in line with customers expectations and consumers preferences, by developing from scratch, or modifying existing formulas or matching.
  • Development of savoury flavors such as beef, chicken, pork, vegetarian in a variety of formats, including liquids, reactions, powders and the incorporation of new ingredients.
  • Develop flavours suitable to industrialization and commercialization, in line with cost in use market expectations and legal status requirements.
  • Development spice marinades for a wide range of applications.
  • Design flavour formulations performing in the specific industrial application and stable in the food and beverages industrial processes.
  • Work with suppliers to develop / introduce new innovative materials.
  • Accurately interpret briefs and provide winning taste solutions to customers.
  • Actively and pro- actively support margin improvement programs to rationalize and implement cost effective solutions across the flavours portfolio.
  • Read & interpret analytical & sensorial data / results and translate in input for flavour development.
  • Work and collaborate with applications and sensory teams to test and validate flavours in application.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate recordkeeping on all assigned projects.
  • Utilize good time management skills while working under pressure.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Department, Savoury Application Specialists, internal and external customers to create customized presentations for major accounts.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • BSc or preferably a MSc in Food Chemistry or related discipline.
  • Min. 6 years of experience is savoury creation as a flavourist with proven track record of supporting successful flavour developments and projects wins.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of aroma chemical, natural extracts and raw materials used in Savoury flavours as well as knowledge of aroma raw materials and aroma production processes and their application properties (liquids, spray drying).
  • Project management experience and knowledge of EU regulations.
  • Willingness to be creative and design oriented.
  • Social and intercultural competence.
  • Business fluent English language skills, other languages considered a plus
