About the Business

We are partnered with an International Fragrance House, who produce fragrances for fine fragrance,

personal care, home care and household products. With sustainability at the heart of their business, they

The position

The position of General Manager will have full P&L responsibility for customers in UK and managing

distributors in Greece and Turkey, including Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Perfumery, Lab and

Evaluation. With a current headcount of 40+ staff, this position is an important and critical commercial

leadership role, part of global leadership team. Accountable and responsible for developing the sales

and business development capability to achieve revenue growth and enhance market leadership.

 

P&L and Budget responsibilities

• Full P&L and budget responsibilities

• Drive commercial business growth in UK and manage distributor markets

• Manage department heads of Sales, Customer Service, Lab, Marketing, Perfumery and Evaluation

in UK

• Work with UK manufacturing team to deliver outstanding services to customers

• Ensure health and safety on site and to develop environmental initiatives

 

Build a competitive market driven and commercially savvy organisation

• Work with the relevant team to establish competitive sales and business development

capabilities

• Identify and articulate company technology strength and capability

• Identify potential new customers / KA and create company technology awareness networks to

generate new business interests

• Help local country team navigate the business development pathway to ensure they effectively

approach and capture the business opportunities

• Develop a strategy to capture and maintain a competitive intelligence database, ensuring

accuracy of information

 

Engage targeted existing and new business customer and Key Accounts

• Establish a direct relationship with customers to help them achieve their objectives and build

long term relationship

• Increase the connectivity of customers / KA with company technologies to support their desired

outcomes

• Positioning and bundling products ranges to provide value add initiatives to generate revenue

Utilise data to identify target opportunities and develop effective business initiatives and events

to generate growth

• Share market intelligence insights and data to ensure appropriate action is taken to position the

organisation as a choice of consideration

• Develop targeted and scalable communications to promote technology to customers

 

Leadership and collaboration

• Provide leadership to the overall team and ensure necessary collaboration and communication

between the sales team and all support functions

• Inspire relevant team and resources to collaborate and work transparently

• Ensure and encourage best practice and success stories are shared across the organisation

• Think strategically, analytically and solve problems through investigation and research and shows

judgment in decision making

• Develop and manage a high performing team

 

Skills & Requirements

• Relevant business degree essential. MBA preferable

• 10+ years relevant industry experience in a B2B technology environment

• Strong analytical and business development experience preferable

• International experience and a proven track record of successfully navigating and understanding

diverse markets are highly desirable.

• Demonstrated track record in developing and implementing sales and business development

strategic plans and programs that deliver business outcomes

• Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders in

different countries and cultures

• Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders across the organisation to develop and implement

strategy

• High-level written and communication skills.
