Position: The company is a top-ranked innovative producer of value-added ingredients for the food & beverage industry, focused on fruit preparations, plant-based, and other specialty ingredients. They are headquartered in Europe but have production facilities across the globe. The position of Global Business Development Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing the Plant Base business strategy globally. The role would have full autonomy for the business development, sales, customer development and account management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement the Plant Base business strategy, guarantying economic performance and long-term business sustainability
  • Support Business Development within sales, marketing insights and client intimacy
  • Build loyalty and develop business with customers in the plant base area
  • Be aware of market data insights and analytics, sharing information with Sales & Marketing area, Operations area and external sources to understand and anticipate to trends and market needs
  • Contribute and participate in M&A opportunities evaluation and implementation
  • Work in close collaboration with the central support services (R&D, Marketing etc.) based in Germany and/or HQ and local R&D colleagues
  • Maintain/develop customer contacts and build your network with decision-makers based on your technical expertise and experience
  • Understand customer requirements to adapt product lines, target current key market segments and future trends.

 

Key Requirements

  • Training in an Agri/Agro/Food Engineering School and/or Management degree
  • Proven experience in international consultive selling in B to B (Plant base) for the Food industries
  • Proven experience in application on plant-based drinks, yogurts/ice cream (including syrup products)
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales of Plant Based ingredients for the food industry (ideally knowledge of fruit preparations)
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Proactive, resilient, hand on, dynamic and passionate personality
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to convince
  • Multicultural openness and great curiosity to identify client issues
  • Sense of customer satisfaction, strong commercial sense and interpersonal skills
  • Strong autonomy, ability to carry responsibilities
  • Mobility for regular trips.
