Head of Regulatory Affairs

Reason for the International Sales Manager role:

The Head of Regulatory Affairs is a new position and will be responsible for designing, implementing and ultimately leading the Regulatory Affairs Department of the future.  Tasked with creating the future vision of a centralized regulatory function that represents all of the company’s products across all divisions, this position will report to the US CEO and will partner with the global regulatory team in Europe.  This will include determining the capabilities, roles and responsibilities needed to ensure continued business success in an increasingly regulated market. 

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing and implementing a compelling vision and strategy in-line with overall business objectives to continue to meet business demands as well as regulatory global and local requirements and transparency related to product safety.
• Identify resources needed in order to create a successful centralized regulatory function within US locations.
• Partners closely with global colleagues to implement transparent regulatory processes.
• Partners with colleagues on master data management data governance related to all raw materials.
• Ensures compliance with product safety, environmental, and regulatory regulations, and accesses impact of governmental, client, non-government organizations, and industry regulations.
• Monitors and stays abreast of major legislative and regulatory issues and provides analyses and strategies to maintain compliance.
• Provides oversight with regard to formula compliance and intervention to ensure all formulas fit both regulatory and customer-specific requirements.
• Strong ability to communicate and interact with clients

• Responsible for in-depth knowledge, changes and compliance developments in the industry.

Requirements:

• MS or B.S. degree in science, preferably in a Life Science, Public Health, Microbiology, or Toxicology.
• 10-15 years in regulatory affairs, experience with both fragrance and flavors / food & non-food grade ingredients & products
• Good understanding of relevant regulations, regulatory organisations, and relevant programmes/software
• Strong project management skills & data analytical skills. 
• Excellent communication skills, high level of emotional intelligence and inter-personal skills
• Experience leading cross-functional and multi-layered teams
• Strong capabilities to identify, assess and develop talent
• Experience leading change or transformation efforts
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and to make timely and fact-based decisions
• Track record of building trusting relationships with all levels of the organization
• Experience working with European regulatory requirements a plus.
