Principal Flavourist

Key Responsibilities

As the Principal Flavourist, you will be responsible for assisting in the set up and management of the new creation centre for the region. Working closely with the management team, and fully supported by the headquarter creation centre, you will be responsible for the full cross category development of the creation centre.

• Develop winning flavour solutions within sweet and/or beverage application.
• Collaborate with R&D technology teams, to ensure the newest research & innovation trends are implemented in your creation & development process.
• Transfer and leverage applied sweet and/or beverage flavour creation know-how within project teams globally and within the region.
• Deliver timely, high-quality and innovative solutions for all projects in accordance to customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Category Development, Sales, Regulatory and Production across the region.
• Take personal responsibility for defined flavour & taste platforms supporting the company’s regional & global strategies.
• Transfer top prototypes successfully from inception to large scale commercialisation.

Required Skills and Experiences

• Essential: A minimum of 10 years of professional experience working as a flavourist with orientation to beverage and/or sweet applications for international/global markets.
• Essential: Degree in Chemistry, Food Science / Food Technology (MSc or higher) or comparable education.
• Essential: Already based in South America or willingness to relocate to the region.
• Cross cultural adaptability and intellectual flexibility as a key enabler for creating flavour innovations.
• Proven communication and customer interface skills, strong project management, IT and presentation skills.
• Clear understanding of sensory and analytical tools supporting efficient and effective way of working.
• Verbal and written command of the English language, proficiency in other languages will be considered a plus.
