Key Responsibilities

  • Develop winning tasty and functional flavour solutions to deliver the sales budget and profitability targets of the Category Culinary. Liaising with a variety of internal stakeholders in commercial functions, consumer insights, portfolio and project management, innovation, as well as research and regulatory, you will leverage a strong network within the Category and beyond. This includes your active collaboration with our culinary hubs across the EAME region to develop close working relationships.
  • Driving innovation in flavours and culinary seasonings, you will not only compose and optimize recipes but also identify and evaluate new raw materials for successful use in creation or as additions to our library. By delivering on both customer briefs and flavor innovation projects, you will have a substantial impact on our vision to “Make more people’s lives taste better”.
  • As a technical representative for assigned customers, you will have the chance to build sustainable external business relationships and actively engage in customer visits together with our sales and category management teams. Providing both creative seasonings and new functional flavor solutions to our customers, you follow design rules and keep up to date with new technologies, ingredients, and legislations.

 

Required Skills and Experiences

  • University degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Food Science/Technology, or other related discipline with further on-the-job training; certified Flavourist or graduation from an accepted Flavorist training program is considered a plus
  • At least 10 years of progressive flavour development experience in the food industry, preferably within the Culinary / Savory category
  • Documented track record as a Flavourist in industry with an artistic flair for flavour creation
  • In-depth understanding of analytical methods for flavour analysis and application criteria
  • Excellent organoleptic skills and advanced knowledge of sensory language
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced project management and problem-solving skills
  • Business acumen and proven ability to translate results directly into new products that meet customer requirements
  • Cultural awareness and ability to influence and lead multifunctional teams within a highly matrixed business environment
  • Experience in mentoring flavourists from trainee to flavourist level; previous leadership for a team of Creation Assistants is considered a plus
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
