Flavourist – Dairy & Food

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of creative and innovative winning flavors from scratch.
  • Work in close collaboration with food scientists and ingredient & technology experts to develop flavor solutions for the dairy and food category.
  • Excellence in matching capability.
  • Create using multiple flavor delivery systems and flavor creation suitable for clean and clear labelling. This includes emulsion, encapsulation and spray drying within local regulatory guidelines.
  • Build a strong Food/Sweet Flavor Portfolio suitable for fruit preparations/pastes, syrups and pure flavor solutions.
  • Support of sales and product management activities through promotion of our flavor competencies.
  • Participation at the customer interface for high potential projects.
  • Work with the global Chief Dairy flavorist to ensure transfer of knowledge into the EAMEI region.
  • Assist in the training of junior flavorists and the development of flavorist trainees.

Required Skills & Experiences

  • Science Degree or higher (chemistry /Food Science preferred) at a reputable educational establishment.
  • Completed training at a recognized flavor school (e.g. ISIPCA) or with a global company.
  • At least 5-10 years flavorist experience, post training..
  • Full working knowledge of all flavor raw materials, flavor chemistry, flavor creation & composition.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and delivery technologies.
  • Communication – The position requires well developed communication skills , able to communicate at all levels and good presentation skills.
  • Very good knowledge of English and a willingness to learn or already fluent German.
  • Highly developed project management skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, PPT, WORD etc.).
