About the business: Our client is a grower & supplier of natural ingredients for use in fragrances & flavors as well as for use in other applications such as cosmetics & pharma.

With a focus on the long-term viability of their harvests and production, they have focused on the sustainability of this natural product that is essential for fragrance creation. Partnering with the growers, they are able to provide a traceable supply in order to ensure high-quality portfolio of these super-ingredients.

Reason for the role:

Due to a recent restructure & rebranding of the company, they are looking to grow their business around the world focusing on providing a fragrance ingredient that has superior olfactive quality for use in fine fragrance, personal care & air care. As part of the on-going business development they will look to expand into food, cosmetics, pharma and nutraceuticals.

The Sales & Business development Managers’ (Europe) primary responsibility is to sell the company’s products, perpetually finding unique ways to engage and increase audience size and clients. The position is responsible for developing and managing all customers in Europe and the incumbent must have excellent communication and presentation skills and be exceptionally self-motivated.

Main Responsibilities & Activities

  • Proactively pursuing new business and sales opportunities as well as maintaining existing client relations
  • You will work with the HQ to define the commercial strategy in order to create a clear & defined approach – in particular work closely with Global Head of Sales and the Marketing teams
  • Solving problems for customers by developing innovative and tailored sales solutions
  • Being a brand ambassador and reflecting company values at all times
  • Building an understanding of the benefits of the use of the portfolio to unlock consumer demand
  • Achieve revenue goals, secure new business opportunities and win new customers against growth orientated revenue goals, plans and objectives
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate key target accounts that represent significant revenue potential
  • Rebuilding the market perception of the company and its capabilities
  • Direct account development activities for target clients, ensuring relationship management and new product development

Required Skills, Experience & Characteristics

  • Be well connected and active in target segments (fragrance and flavour manufacturers with future expansion into new categories), establishing networks and promoting brand awareness, while monitoring market trends, competitor information and product feedback
  • 7+ years in the F&F ingredients sector with proven track record in converting B2B sales and creating new business
  • Strong product selling experience
  • Self-driven with the ability to work both independently and as part of a remote team
  • An entrepreneurial spirit to grow the business in new and existing markets
  • A high degree of commercial acumen with good negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills
  • Ability to assist in executing a global marketing strategy with cultural empathy
  • Good IT & CRM skills
  • Excellent English language skills (written & spoken) – other languages will be a bonus
  • Willing & able to travel on a regular basis – mainly within Europe
