About the Business

A leading global producer of innovative ingredients for the cosmetic and personal care industry is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive business development across the EMEA region. With a diverse portfolio of active and functional ingredients, this company distributes its products worldwide through a well-established network of distributors and agents.

Reporting to the EMEA Sales Director, this position will be based in Germany and will be responsible for managing distributors and key direct accounts across multiple countries, including Germany, Austria, German-speaking Switzerland, Netherlands, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.

 

Key Responsibilities

Distributor Management

• Oversee and support distribution partners responsible for promoting the company’s product portfolio across designated territories.

• Ensure distributors receive technical and commercial training to effectively represent the brand.

• Provide ongoing support, including technical expertise and commercial guidance when needed.

• Monitor distributor performance, ensuring they are effectively implementing sales strategies.

• Organize quarterly meetings to track sales performance, business opportunities, market trends, and regulatory changes.

• Conduct customer visits to maintain relationships and explore growth opportunities.

• Contribute to the company’s commercial strategy by providing market insights, customer trends, and competitive intelligence.

• Ensure effective implementation of sales strategies across all territories.

 

Key Account Management

• Directly manage and develop strategic customer relationships within the cosmetic ingredients portfolio.

• Identify and drive new business opportunities with key accounts.

• Build a strong industry network, establishing long-term customer partnerships.

• Define and execute long-term business strategies tailored to major accounts.

• Provide technical support to customers, ensuring successful product integration.

• Collaborate with other business units within the group to develop synergies with shared key accounts.

 

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

Master’s degree in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or Pharmacy.

5-7 years of experience in a similar sales or business development role within the personal care or cosmetic ingredients industry.

• Fluency in German and English; French is a plus.

• Strong customer orientation, with exceptional negotiation and communication skills.

• Ability to adapt to different cultures and operate effectively in a global market.

• Proven ability to work independently, while maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Strong business ethics, resilience, and problem-solving mindset.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time across the designated region.
