About the Business: The organisation is a multi-billion agrochemicals company who offers a range of speciality ingredients and feed additives. They focus on constant improvements and R&D to make sure their products improves animal health, fertility and overall heard performance. They are looking to cement their presence within the UK and Ireland for their Ruminant and Monogastric businesses.
Overall Role Function: As a Technical Sales Manager you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business while managing some existing business and key accounts. This position is expected to help the growth of the company by providing technical and sales management support for the Ruminant species predominantly to begin with however there is a lot of room to grow into other species. The role will be reporting into the Commercial and Technical Manager for the UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will work with the present team of Sales and Technical Managers across the UK, to maintain and develop the additive portfolio with major feed mills, nutrition consultants and supplement houses.
- Use insight and consultative selling techniques to teach customers about their industry and offer unique perspectives on their business down to farm level.
- Initiate and realize new business relationships within the market and help build up the Monogastric business almost from scratch.
- Establish and co-ordinate field trials with colleagues to understand the research from R&D and implement this knowledge and know how with customers to help improve their businesses.
Required Skills & Experiences
- Essential: Bachelors or Masters degree within Animal Science and/or Veterinary or equivalent
- Essential: 3+ years experience within the animal nutrition industry
- Essential: The role will involve customer visits and a company car will be provided, so a valid driving license is essential.
- You have a good knowledge and experiences at feed mill, farm and field level, along with an understanding of feed supply chains and animal production systems.
- Strategic thinking; systematically solves problems and hypothesize possible customer issues, expectations and implicit needs.
