Role Overview:
In this role, you are responsible for creating and maintaining a policy of continuous quality improvement within the company to support quality-based decision processes and keep quality systems in a state of compliance.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the Quality and Food Safety team in the company.
- Develop, manage, and improve on key performance metrics.
- Ensure all processes are scientifically validated to guarantee Food Safety.
- To create a working environment that recognizes and rewards innovation and cost containment.
- Manages QA team, managing, coaching and developing the team members.
- Update the food safety/quality systems to leverage opportunities identified through continuous improvement activities and learning of new equipment, methods, and processes.
- Implementing changes to the Food Safety & Quality systems.
- Perform periodic evaluations of the production process, product and procedures.
- Formulate and implement quality optimization actions.
- Manage the documentation involved in the maintenance of protocols and quality systems.
Key Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science/Food Science/Technology or similar major.
- 5+ years Quality Assurance experience with food, ingredients and manufacturing.
- 5+ years in a management position holding responsibility for quality management with food, ingredients and manufacturing.
- Understanding of Quality Systems, Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Food Regulations.
- Ability to manage a team, including food quality assurance / control, food safety and compliance in a manufacturing environment with focus on continuous improvement.
