Our client is a pioneering plant-based seafood company, revolutionizing the industry with breakthrough technology that creates premium whole-cut, plant-based fish fillets designed for sustainable global food solutions. Their flagship product, a salmon-inspired fillet, is already featured in top restaurants across the U.S. As the company expands nationally, they are seeking a strategic and driven Regional Sales Manager to lead sales efforts in the New York area.
Position Overview
As one of the first members of the U.S. sales team, the Regional Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding sales, securing new food service customers, and managing key accounts. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to drive sales growth through direct outreach, product demonstrations, and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
• Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute a targeted sales plan, focusing on food service customers and distributors. Oversee the full sales funnel, including lead generation, in-person cold outreach, pitching the product to chefs, conducting live cooking demos, processing purchase orders (POs), and managing accounts.
• Sales Expansion: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through events, partnerships, menu expansion, and diversified sales channels to drive revenue growth.
• Account Management: Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers, ensuring exceptional service and customer satisfaction to foster long-term partnerships.
• Product Presentations & Demos: Conduct product tastings, demonstrations, and educational sessions to showcase the benefits of the plant-based salmon product. Guide customers on preparation, usage, and menu integration.
• Sales Tracking & Reporting: Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, tracking sales performance against goals to ensure company growth.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and operations teams to optimize customer success. Provide market insights and customer feedback to influence product development.
• Industry Engagement: Represent the company at trade shows, food industry events, and client meetings to build brand awareness and business relationships.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Experience in sales or business development, particularly within the food service industry.
• Culinary background or food service/restaurant experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of the food service landscape, including distributors, brokers, and restaurant operations.
• Ability to work independently in a remote or field-based role, managing time effectively.
• A sociable, people-oriented personality with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong ability to understand key stakeholders’ motivations (e.g., chefs, waitstaff, restaurant owners) and tailor sales strategies accordingly.
• Results-driven mindset, with strong execution skills and a hands-on approach.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment, adapting to frequent changes and pivots.
• A collaborative team player, open to feedback and continuous improvement.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience with CRM systems is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
