Sales Manager Italy

Role Overview:

The client is a multi million speciality ingredients distributer are currently looking for a Sales Manager who will be responsible for sales across Italy within the categories of Dairy, Bakery, Confectionery. The role will report directly into the Food Division Manager and have responsibility to build, develop and win new business with customers within the region.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage existing B2B clients including key accounts in the sector of Bakery, Confectionery and Dairy producers and in accordance with the level of experience.
• Develop client portfolio of ca.70 specialty clients worth €1.5m per annum.
• Seek out new clients and new applications.
• Meet sales targets respecting volume and profit-margin.
• Negotiate prices and contractual conditions.
• Answer technical and commercial requests and propose new solutions.
• Liaise with the team internally and as appropriate when handling customer enquiries or developing projects.
• Ensure with the team high-quality service including prompt delivery, technical assistance, product development.
• Manage the after-sales follow-up and monitor customer satisfaction.
• Travel (up to 70%) throughout Italy and from time to time to international trade fairs, seminars and meetings.

Key Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar job requirement, ideally in sales or business development.
• Ideally a university degree in Food or an MBA.
• Proven track record in winning new business.
• Strong written and oral communication skills as well as high negotiation skills.
• Fluency in English & Italian. Additional languages considered a plus.
