Scientific Innovation & Project Manager

About the Business: 

Our client is a renowned world leader within the Animal Nutrition industry, with a proactive and innovative approach focusing on delivering high quality feed and feed additives for the animal nutrition and animal health industries. Due to their long lasting success, they are looking to expand their Strategic Innovation Department by taking on a highly skilled scientist/ researcher/innovator to scout and manage their future product development.

Main Responsibilities:

• You need to be ready and hungry to stay up-to-date with cutting-edge technology (from all innovative/technical industries) and able to translate these advancements/processes to the animal nutrition industry, thus enabling the development of high quality, future-conscious products.
• The combination of creativity and realistic approach in your personality is a must. You need to be able not only to imagine a product from your internal/external research and information gathering, but also be able to turn ideas into concrete product concepts and projects.
• You will coordinate and monitor existing & new projects related to product innovation from the very beginning of the innovative process. You will be the operational scientific guarantor, meaning you will persuade and motivate your colleagues with an innovative idea to enable them to support the projects until they are customer ready (become a real product).
• You feel confident to manage and communicate with all types of teams involved in the project, inspiring their involvement in all processes from the start of the innovation initiative to the finished product.
• You will be able to identify market requirements and recognize the potential weaknesses or difficulties with real-life approval, application or competitiveness of the product and to improve on these aspects to ensure timely release and highest product quality.

Key Requirements and Qualifications

• Essential: Highly relevant degree in Animal Nutrition or comparable qualification (any life science field would be considered), ideally on an MSc or PhD level.
• Essential: Experienced in research and project management in any of the life-science industries (ideally animal nutrition) and ability to translate concepts to tangible projects.
• You have willingness to work in an environment where there is no strict multiple level procedure for everything you do. You can innovate on your work-flow, colleague interaction and project-management tools and prefer this type of environment over a highly regulated one.
• Fluent English; other languages are an advantage.
